E M Smith is hubber Ethel Smith's alter ego. Ethel has decided to see if using a separate hub account for her predominantly British or English Hubs is beneficial or not.

Amazon USA affiliates has to date been rather a mixed bag and Ethel wanted to try the Amazon affiliates for the UK.

There is no deception or jiggory pokery meant by having this additional account which is why Ethel is being up front about opening a new account. Ethel decided that this UK based account will smply be for writing. Her original account will be for reading, hub hopping, forum posting and the like.

However as her Hub score is so low on this account she will have to hub hop a little. Ethel will take care not to cross over her other account.

If it causes anyone any problems please let her know before she has too many Hubs on this account.

You all know she can never stop writing!

Currently this additional UK account seems to have been a great place to vent her feelings on UK current affairs especially the economic crisis.

Update 5th July 2010

With three hubs to date it would seem that perhaps Ethel had the wrong end of the stick when she originally joined Hubpages. The ads on this account are still USA based but hopefully any earnings will be easier to claim via Amazon UK. Confused? Well so was I.

I guess I just joined the wrong nationality affilate in the first place. However, with oputstanding monies in the balance, but not enough to claim, I need to keep that account going, at least for a while I think. 

I will update as I learn more. Hopefully this info will benefit fellow UK hubbers. Then again you are probably all more Internet savvy than I.
